The turn based realtime strategy game Star Trek: The Next Generation - Birth of the Federation was developed by MicroProse and released by Hasbro Interactive in june 1999.
Despite the sudden close of MicroProse and Hasbro Interactive and all the bugs it was released with, it attracted fans all over the world. Over the past decades, many of those bugs could be resolved and alot of mods and multiple fan based successors and spin-offs has been worked on.
Even today, this game still is actively played and modded. And there exist a few small but active communities related to it.
